About

When he purchased Mary Donnelly’s Public House in 2019, Mike had a vision for the business. That vision was to make Donnelly’s your destination for a great burger and the best fish and chips in town. With his vast knowledge and hands-on experience in the food and beverage industry, he knew he could make this vision a reality.

With tried and true recipes in hand; including homemade Caesar, Ranch and Cole Saw dressings all using only the finest quality ingredients; he settled on a perfect menu. Our Ground Round is purchased daily from a local grocer with an in-house butcher where the burger is ground fresh every morning. Our seafood is purchased from a local retailer to ensure up-most freshness.

Our History

A little background about the owner. Mike purchased his first neighborhood bar in Detroit, Michigan in 1979. From there he ran serveral local pubs until he settled and moved to Royal Oak, Michigan in 1993. He successfully built and ran Vinsetta Grill until 2017 when Kruse and Muer approached him to relocate their business from their Troy location. After careful consideration, he set his eyes on retirement. In April 2017, Vinsetta Grill would serve its final guests.

By January 2018, Mike knew retirement wasn’t his style and he began looking for local businesses for sale. Mary Donnelly’s quickly caught his eye, and he found it to be the perfect spot for his own version of retired life.

We welcome you to the new and improved Mary Donnelly’s Public House, where our number one goal is to serve you, your family and friends an exceptional meal in a cozy and comfortable environment.
